Dangerman Urban Superhero

While respectfully differing with his enhanced gun control stance I am a Danger-Fan and fellow “real life superhero ( RLSH ) anti crime activist under my Cap Black user name.

Great guy. Great message.

REAL LIFE HEROES AT DARK KNIGHT RISES MOVIE MASSACRE!

Stunned Americans and good people globally await revelation about WHY suspect James Holmes went on a historic masked murder spree that one ” real life superhero ( RLSH ) ” activist named Anti Hero labeled as the work of a ” real life super criminal. ”

Let’s take comfort in stories of real life heroism which media is sharing.

Even in the face of such terrifying danger some thought of others and acted accordingly. Caring about the next person even if it risks our lives is one sure defense against what I hope will NEVER become a trend:” real life super criminals” using comic book culture to embellish rampages.
Our hands are full enough with so-called “normal” sociopaths; gangs and the like.
Marvel at the real life heroism Holmes encountered.
As always my thoughts and prayers are with the victims; their families and nations wondering if anywhere is safe anymore?

Let no one….

The recent event & all the posts back in forth in our costumed community has put me to thought. In the odd chance I ever get shot while doing what we do…let no one gloat “He got what he deserved.”
Damn right I did…Live by the Sword & Die by it too.

DARK KNIGHT RISES MOVIE MASSACRE & COMIC BOOK CULTURE.

Our beloved comic book culture, as fans and for some. superhero theme activists, was used as a back drop to commit mass murder inside an Aurora Colorado movie premier of ” the Dark Knight Rises. “
Americans and world citizens who love this medium should look deeply into unfolding events and resolve to use one of its core values, individual vigilance to enhance public safety, to help people better secure what’s always been society’s soft under belly: theaters; malls; stores, eateries, etc.
Members of what media calls ” the real life superhero ( RLSH ) ” now have a golden opportunity to put aside petty squabbles in the face of a masked assault embodying the worst villainy of fact and fiction. Their use of superhero imagery can assume new seriousness in wake of this tragedy.
The Free World is being tested these days. From domestic crime to foreign terrorism free people are being battered by angry dissidents and worse. Those who enjoy comic books unbridled freedom and the few who even take this to the streets should unite to pump new life into tired appeals about being vigilant in public.
Whether this shooter is a loner or part of a plot our beloved comic book culture nonetheless has preached awareness against sudden evil from its inception. We ( meaning fans and activists ) shouldn’t go spastic and stage embarrassing fan boy pr exercises or misguided vigilantism as clumsy attempts to calm a frightened populace.
Using our beloved comic book culture as fans and activists to creatively high light the need for real life vigilance will be more than enough.
Our fictional heroes and heroines once again have shown us the way.
Whether we use their example to make horrible facts like this movie massacre history remains to be seen.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims; their families and nations wondering if anywhere is safe anymore?

While Phoenix Jones Wants Your Money For Himself, Rex Velvet Makes Dreams Come True

Original Blog:
http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/dailyweekly/2012/07/rex_velvet_making_wishes_come.php
It’s a crazy world we live in. On one hand, you’ve got Seattle real-life superhero Phoenix Jones, caught up in yet another drama, with some questioning the motives behind his efforts to get the public to pay for a new $10,000 crime-fighting suit. On the other hand, you’ve got Jones’ nemesis, the purportedly dastardly Rex Velvet, caught up in the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish foundation, having spent the last two days helping a young boy with spinal muscular atrophy live out his dream.
Officially the 5,000th wish granted by Make-A-Wish Alaska & Washington, over a two-day span, Sunday and Monday, Velvet was part of a heartwarming plan created for 12-year-old Colby, or Agent C. Incorporating special agents, spies, kidnapped mascots, tuxedos, forensics, the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts, helicopter rides, flash mobs, the Space Needle, and even silly string, the adventure allowed Colby to live out his dream of being a special agent, solving crimes with his dad at his side, and ultimately bringing down Seattle’s biggest villain of them all, Rex Velvet.
To call it elaborate would be an understatement. By the sounds of it, the operation was downright masterful.
“It’s probably the best birthday anybody is going to get,” Colby, who celebrated his 12th birthday in the midst of the adventure, told Q13 Fox.
But what about Rex Velvet? How did such a well-dressed yet villainous character get caught up in such a decidedly decent deed?
“They had to do some heavy negotiating with the Social Villains Alliance to make this happen,” says Velvet of his involvement. “I really am worried about helping people too much.”
While that may be so, Velvet didn’t let any concerns about maintaining his villainous street cred curb the fun. During the two-day adventure, Velvet took part in an alleged secret party at his lair which Agent C managed to infiltrate, kidnapped Seahawks’ mascot Blitz along with former Make-A-Wish recipient Robin Hall, got chased down via helicopter while on a boat on Lake Washington, and ultimately was on the losing end of a silly-string fight at the Renton Airport.
“He actually cultivated quite the team against me today,” says a slightly defeated Velvet of being bested by a 12-year-old boy.
Even in defeat, however, Velvet maintains his perspective. With an audible sneer in his voice, he warns of “much bigger plans,” coming Seattle’s way “very, very, very soon.” He makes no mystery of his intention to “eliminate superheroes” once and for all.
As for his involvement with Make-A-Wish, Velvet tells Seattle Weekly he’s happy to have been able to help Colby’s wish become reality, but overall his priorities remain unchanged. He’s not against little boys living their dreams. He’s against grown men in costumes pretending to be crime fighters.
“Colby is a wonderful human being. It was wonderful to watch (Colby’s wish) unfold,” says Velvet.
“It’s those superheroes I can’t stand.”

WAR OF THE WORLDS ( IN THE HOOD! ).

Martian War Machine lifts from pit in War Of The Worlds by George Pal

Crack is the looming unearthly invader in my life as someone raised in a the inner city BC ( Before Crack ).

Crack transformed my neighborhood into a ” Hood ” with all that entails. We devolved from a Southern-fried version of the Cosby Show to an all Black real life production of Escape From New York, which cast me in the improbable role  of Snake Plissken ( LOL ).

I can’t forgive crack dealers for the humanity they stole from my neighborhood. Like literal scenes from a George Romero zombie movie furniture began vanishing from porches so frequently they had to either be brought in or with my grand parents chained to the porch railing.

Diary of the Dead Poster
Crack heads began wondering the streets like the famed director’s undead nit looking for people to eat but rocks to smoke with equal vigor.
All the horror and science fiction movies I watched with my grandfather were prequels to this bleak new reality for Inner City America.
I compare the roll call of cities hit by Soviet missiles in the movie Damnation Alley to those crack ravaged from the 80s forward.

The Martians and nameless aliens in Independence Day were more merciful: they offered extinction level death ray assault with explanation or mercy.

Crack dealers prefer slow motion attrition so they can profit for decades off addicts  hungry for what’s destroying them.
Mutants in the original Planet of The Apes series at least got telekinetic powers in exchange for radiation deformed bodies.

In real life crack heads only got whatever flights of fancy each hit lauches inside brains and bodies wasting away before their wide glassy eyes.

I’m one of those who watched this erupt around him- just like in a Romero zombie. I fought it back home and anywhere else!
Dawn of the Dead Poster

One day life proceeds as normal until an invisible  point of no return is crossed without warning… or mercy!!!

So far, the War of the Worlds within Inner City America has the invaders and zombies winning.
I am legend perhaps?
A man wearing leather clothes and holding a rifle walks alongside a dog on an empty street. A destroyed bridge is seen in the background. Atop the image is "Will Smith" and the tagline "The last man on Earth is not alone". Below is the film's title and credits.

Not hardy.

Like Enoch the intelligent lizard man from the original Land of The Lost TV series,
Land of the Lost - The Complete First Season

I’m cursed/blessed ( take your pick ) to remember what the Hood was like before a real life war of The World hit it.

As a caretaker of a lost culture of dignity and hope all I can do is fight the Good Fight; champion these values and find others who practice the same.
That’s my report as a remnant of the Hood before a literal War of the Worlds conquered it!

buck rogers
We owe the Freedom Riders; Dr King:  Malcolm X and our generations an apology if we let crack dealers; crack heads; thug culture i.e. chocolate Klansmen erase all we fought to institute.
In the TV series ” V” mankind took up arms against their invaders.

In the Hood we can’t even get on television and denounce them for the low lives they are.

End of Entry.

Supermobiles…Classic Coke is still better, and here's why.

Supermobiles…Classic Coke is better & here’s why.
I don’t usually go for “training Manuals” so to speak. I feel that everyone’s experience & talents are different & what applies to one RLSH doesn’t apply to another ones situation. But that being said I feel Supermobiles are a topic I’m qualified to speak on. THE Supermobile has been in the game for quite some time and is considered by many to be a Flagship of sorts for the RLSH community. She was a brief & fun focal point of the HBO Documentary “Superheroes” and is requested for appearances & events.
One thing about older cars is they have “quirks” or odd problems that you don’t get with a 2010 Nissan Sentra…like a 37 year old fuel line finally giving up the Ghost on you…and the car being in the shop for a month having the mufflers cut & the Tank dropped so the line can be reached.

This prolonged down time is what inspired me to actually consider “Updating” the Supermobile with a much newer model. I started looking at 2006 & 2007 Corvettes in parking lots with Ladyhero, and then finally started shopping for them online. Like This one

One gorgeous car and it’s a 2007 going for about $26,000, here is where I discovered that a Classic one…even with the unusual quirks & maintenance demands is still better.
Initial Price: The Supermobile cost initially a little less then HALF of what the 2007 does, saving me a tremendous sum of money to tweak the car with. The other half of the money I’d have spent on the new one is what put the 383 into the Supermobile.
Car Payment: Even if you put half down on the new one, after financing you’re looking at a $230 or $250 Dollar a month Car payment for five years. You could by a classic one outright…avoid the payment all together…and that brings us to the BIGGEST killer of a new Supermobile VS a Classic…
INSURANCE: Unless you can afford to buy the New Corvette outright, you are going to have to have full coverage on it until it’s paid off. Insurance of any kind on a new car that has a 6.0 400 HP Engine in it is not cheap. The Classic Supermobile has even MORE Horsepower…but since it’s a classic (Over 25 years old) I can have classic insurance on it…I pay just over $200 dollars a year for awesome coverage with Roadside, agreed value, windshield etc. on the Supermobile because she’s considered a classic.
So when you weigh it all it seems to me that your best bang for the buck is still a classic Supermobile as opposed to a new one. Sure, you’ll put up with the occasional pain in the rear from a older car, but even if you drop $3000 a year into repairs it still beats the payment on the new one. This will apply to any classic car as well not just Corvettes so when it’s time to slide down your bat poles & into the cave you keep your Super car,  I say make it  Classic Coke…it’s better anyway.

After all I’ve been put through-I considered strongly just walking away from everyone.

But I think its now more then ever we need people..good people-to be beacons of light in this dark world.
The best thing you can do is cast off all negativity. It has helped me a lot. And I have found that when you turn your back on negative people they tend to change their attitude and become positive- so you really aren’t turning your back at all.
I used to be negative all the time after everything and looking at the big picture- my motto now is that you are in control of your mood so if you wake up each determined to have a good day it will usually happen.
I smile way more now. I have helped a lot of people- you guys come forward to lift me up when its a struggle and I thank each and everyone of you.
And like a wise person said to me-someone I cherish “You have been an inspiration to so many people. I think that you do need to put yourself first sometimes though.”
And I do.
Ill never give up helping people-or being who I am. We all are needed to lift each other up. Its not about fame-or heroics-or self gain. Its about common decency. Treating those around us as we want or need to be treated. About being better then all that came before us. Shaping the next generation whose lost their way.
Its about hope.
Don’t ever give up
