"Lame Duck" but no less important missions:

EXCITING: Driving across the State to a con to meet Celebs and talk up the Public. Telling people about doing the right thing, with a Gimmick or Without…and basically Recruiting for the cause.
EXCITING: taking the Supermobile at Warp 9 to St.Pete and running up a parking garage when you hear a chick screaming or maybe even preventing a mugging.
NO SO EXCITING: Spending half the day sitting in the Social Security Office, then on the phone pushing more one’s & zeroes then are on Zimmer Barnes Gimmick to try & help a 91 year old lady get additional assistance to make ends meet. Really to no avail either.
But the reality is that this kind of mission is no less important then the other two.
It’s not all glamor, gals, and Galactus.

In case anybody wonders Ladyhero figured out a course of action to take for the elderly lady. she should be fine.

Nothing lame about having a heart, S.H.! Nice time for a discussion around the fact that some things are more important than “look at me.” All I’m doing is sitting at a desk with a keyboard and mouse- I’m planning to flood a child pornographers inbox. Typing typing typing, send. Pasty-faced comic-book geek actually up to something more than geeking out. Local police referred me to CMEC, and I had planned on visiting them already (gave them benefit of the doubt), MidKnight, thebrotherman, and Slink are in thus far. How many have time to sit here like me? It occurs to me this may take a while to set up…
The point—- lame means could plausibly be justified by the right ends.
A 91 year old lady needed your help, a lame duck wouldn’t have done what you did.

In the end it’s the little things that we do for others that actually have the largest impact. There are no small good deeds. No small acts of kindness. Like tossing a pebble into a pond the ripple effect can have unseen effects that can span the world. Carry on the good fight.

When someone does something fun for a good cause that is easy. When someone does something unpleasant for a good cause that is the core of heroism.
It may not be glamorous or exciting but that is the kind of heroics that we need.
