CAP BLACK SECURES TALK HOST LENNY MCALLISTER

Essence Music Fest 2012 had an added benefit this year: I got to work with national Republican commentator Lenny McAllister as his “personal assistant ( nice speak for polite body guard ). ” Politics, especially for vocal Black conservatives can get ugly- sometimes really ugly.That’s why I was there (lol ). He participated as the lone conservative amid noted liberal voices Dr. Julian Malveaux; former New Orleans mayor Marc Morial; Roland Martin and Michael Baisden to name a few.Spirited debate didn’t get out of hand and even Dr. Malveaux, no friend of conservatives, shook Lenny’s hand for the courage to even appear.
Unlike the stereotypical celebrity client, Lenny  is a regular guy with extraordinary passion for politics and inspiring change. Compared to hyper-inflated egos I’ve encountered at events and during activism that was a refreshing surprise.
As Americans try to make sense of a Recession; crime; racial tension and the 2012 presidential ordeal it’s good having honest brokers like Lenny out there to keep all sides honest.
For that alone he deserves a body guard.
