I will call 911 on you on the low to preserve discreet information gathering or directly act if the situation is too hot to wait for police to arrive.

This is the new Black male citizenship paradigm I  ( and others ) practice and promote. It’s the antidote to thug addiction intravenouslypumped into brothers minds by adults and (un) popular culture. I know jails are overcrowded but so are morgues with chocolate klansmen’s only gift tot he community!

My contribution to our embattled community is a brother they can trust to advise them on safety and the long hard grind called seeking success without being a criminal.

When it comes to glacial police/community relations here in New Orleans and nationally the logical question is, ”  can brothers who are against crime help NOPD? “

Hmmm?

” Yes ” in theory.

” Maybe ” in application.

Black men commit most of our street crime.  Reasonable observers would gather that uniting police and Black men opposing street crime is a no-brainer.

Not quite.

I have relationships with officers as do other anti crime brothers. Such scattered informal associations aside there is no formal coalition specifically uniting Black men with the police ( my Brothers & Badges Together model comes to mind, hint hint lol ). http://moveonup.ning.com/profiles/blogs/brothers-badges-together 

Again, most New Orleans street crime is a majority Black male affair. Getting Black men and cops on the same team isn’t a ” racist ” response- it’s realist.

Either we as a society see Black men as more than suspects ( unless employed by law enforcement agencies, etc ) or we don’t.

Keeping anti crime brothers at arms length makes them wonder if liberal accusations about police being eternally biased are true?

I’d like to see Black male/police relations evolve to resemble a real world version of what Adam West’s Batman enjoyed on his famed TV show.

It’s a looong shot but worth the work I and others in this chocolate Klansmen era are making because there is no other decent choice!

All we have is the public safety miracle of all time waiting in the wings if we pull this off!

Jarell Brooks, Dark Knight Movie Massacre Hero

God bless this 19 year old real life hero for saving the lives of a mother and her two children- one of whom is a four month old infant, from James Holmes rampage.
Did I mention young Mr. Brooks did more than her boyfriend, who promptly fled when shooting started???
Young Black men get alot of bad press. While quick to denounce chocolate Klansmen I also quickly recognize young brothers who show the world how we ( and any decent person ) should act.
While pushing Ms. Patricia Legarreta and her children to safety, effectively shielding them with his body, they were both regrettably shot. Hopping on one leg our young hero’s only thoughts were, “ I have to get this family out, without getting hit myself. I managed to do one” he told ABC News.
Real life heroism.
All young Black men aren’t cowards or criminals.
Many of them do great deeds like Jarell Brooks but are overshadowed by peers hell bent on destroying everyone around them.
Pundits say the Dark knight wasn’t there to save the day. I respectfully disagree.
Young Jarell Brooks and other real life ” dark knights ” rose to the occasion- getting wounded or even killed to protect others- just like the fictional superhero they gathered to watch on the big screen.
Congratulations young brother!

Stunned Americans and good people globally await revelation about WHY suspect James Holmes went on a historic masked murder spree that one ” real life superhero ( RLSH ) ” activist named Anti Hero labeled as the work of a ” real life super criminal. ”

Let’s take comfort in stories of real life heroism which media is sharing.
Even in the face of such terrifying danger some thought of others and acted accordingly. Caring about the next person even if it risks our lives is one sure defense against what I hope will NEVER become a trend:” real life super criminals” using comic book culture to embellish rampages.
Our hands are full enough with so-called “normal” sociopaths; gangs and the like.
Marvel at the real life heroism Holmes encountered.
As always my thoughts and prayers are with the victims; their families and nations wondering if anywhere is safe anymore?

The worst part of my crooked ( thankfully former ) employer’s pre-Independence Day pay check delay is this: placing my ability to help on ” pause??? ”
This eclipses any personal threat of lifestyle insecurity- though considerable ( LOL ).
The worst part is the sudden halt imposed upon my giveaways of food and small amounts of money. I live for bridging the gulf between myself and r souls in need.
That’s the gift free people share without some bureaucrat or strongman twisting our arms ( i.e. taxes; repressive regulations; liberty limiting laws etc. )
Critics consider this unworthy of ” real life superhero ( RLSH ) ” themed activism but I counter this is the essence of being a  RLSH.
Micro-good offerings of food; clothing and other items separates RLSH from fictional counterparts. Imagine Iron Man handing out sandwiches or Batman whipping out his Bat-card to pay for free meals inside an inner city McDonalds?
I hate turning down folks I routinely assist- HATE IT WITH A PASSION!!!
God put me here to give comfort in direct proportion to my motivation and resources, not become stalemated by small minds and greed.
Recalling what was possible just last week and even years ago provides some small comfort.
I’m striving to un-press this proverbial ” pause ” and absent outside input must wait until my until delayed check arrives or new work starts.
When your ability to help is on “pause” it’s not a happy time!
Helping others is a form of happiness better than the strongest legal or illegal drugs on the market!

A HAND UP: RLSH Emergency Fund.
This Xmas I wanted to do something completely different with Team Justice Then I’d done the previous years and when it was brought to our attention that we could actually use our status to start a fund to help the RLSH community I was quite interested. Kapes & Artisteroi Rlsh Gadgeteer set the whole sh-bang up thru pay-pal to our 501c3 account and started taking donations to help a Family in our own little community with two children where the Husband was recently laid off. A fair amount of money was raised for the cause & ironically the amount raised was similar to the amount I usually spend on the Xmas Outreach each year so I decided to Match the amount raised and send the checks to the family in need.
I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all, Those that participated, Those that had the idea, and those that made it work. And thanks for getting TEAM JUSTICE off in a new direction. Looks like we’ll be ready the next time a RLSH family needs help as well.

Three of the Occupy Oakland protesters who were arrested after last week’s General Strike turned chaotic were arraigned in Alameda Superior Court on Monday. Among them was a roughed up “real-life superhero” who had attended the march dressed as a ninja with homemade armor, but whose family believes he might have been mistaken by cops for a black bloc anarchist.
Roy Sorvari, a 22-year-old former Boy Scout who lives with his parents in Antioch, answered to charges of resisting arrest — prosecutors alleged he kicked and attempted to hit a cop with his shield. With stitches in his forehead and two black eyes, the 5-foot-5, 130-pound Sorvari claims he had been beaten and knocked unconscious during the early hours last Thursday — perhaps by police — after the protest turned violent, according to his attorney, Jeffrey Kaloustian, of the National Lawyers Guild. Sorvari faces a felony charge of resisting arrest and a $15,000 bail.
The Alameda County district attorney didn’t file charges for eight other protesters of the 11 who were scheduled to be arraigned yesterday. They were the same ones who’d been held in custody over the weekend or who’d posted bail, according to Greg Michalec of Occupy Legal, an organization set up for the legal defense of arrested demonstrators. The rest of the 103 protesters arrested during last week’s strike will be arraigned in the coming weeks.
Sorvari, awesomely, belongs to a international confederation of civilian peacekeepers — somewhat akin to the Guardian Angels — who don cartoonish costumes and call themselves the “Real Life Superheroes.” The group claims about a half-dozen members in the Bay Area, said a fellow superhero with the handle “Motor Mouth” who showed up in the courtroom Monday to support Sorvari.
“Motor Mouth” said he and Sorvari — whose superhero handle is “Ray” — have been providing security at night for the Occupy Oakland encampment in Frank Ogawa Plaza, protecting the people’s right to assembly.
While “Motor Mouth” didn’t attend the general strike last week, he says Sorvari showed up in his usual superhero get-up — a black balaclava, all-black clothes, ski goggles, and homemade body armor that lights up. In addition, “Motor Mouth” says he’d lent Sorvari a Captain America-like shield for the event.
“Motor Mouth” says he is “120 percent sure” that cops had mistaken Sorvari for one of the black bloc anarchists who emerged after the peaceful march, breaking windows and setting fire in downtown Oakland in the early morning hours on Thursday.
Sorvari’s mother, Lynn, said, “Maybe that was a mistake; maybe he should have had a more high-profile costume.”
His parents, who are between jobs and have four other children, say they are going to start a PayPal account for donations to help them pay $1,500 — the 10 percent they have to put up for Sorvari’s bail. We’ll post an update as soon as the account is up and running.
When Kaloustian came out Monday afternoon after talking to Sorvari, he delivered the following message to “Motor Mouth,” who was waiting in the hallway: “Sorry about losing your shield.”
