BEE STING & BEING MORE CAREFUL FROM NOW ON!

This is Bee Sting, a costumed activist from Michigan accused off firing his shotgun while grappling with someone he’s confronted. Facts are sketchy and after George Zimmerman rushing to judgement just got warp drive.
I practice neighborhood watch; citizens patrol and real life superhero ( RLSH )/extreme altruist ( X ALT ) activism. Best practices and avoiding situations where we can be accused of misconduct are our best defense. Private citizens walk a tight rope with the legal system when taking action. Private citizens with costumes and/or code names walk a tight rope without a safety net because of how unusual their choice of civic duty appears.Bee Sting will have his day in court. As a broad community we’d do well to think twice before taking any action that could backfire. We’re private citizens, not cops! This fact is made painfully clear when one of us finds himself pursued more aggressively by police and prosecutors than career criminals with rap sheets blocks long!I’m not saying neighborhood watchers; citizens on patrol; RLSH or X ALTS ought to second guess every move they make or close up shop.I am suggesting that being even more careful from now on isn’t bad… especially with the bad press cycle currently under way.
We don’t want anyone’s rights violated or harmed because of what we do.

Group of 'Real Life Super Heroes' to patrol Flint streets

FLINT — A bandit of masked crime-fighters will be patrolling the streets of Flint Saturday.
The local team, known as the “Michigan Protectors,” is a part of a world-wide movement called “Real Life Super Heroes.”
The “heroes” are made up of volunteer citizens from Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Indianapolis who travel crime ridden communities around the state, donning costumes and fighting off crime.
There are groups like this popping up all across the country.
So what do these masked protectors of justice do? They say they merely observe and report illegal activities to the proper authorities, and only intervene in a crime when lives are at stake. Take a look at the group’s youtube video below, and check out the “Real Life Super Heroes” website by clicking here:

Ridiculous- they aren’t actual law enforcers.
Good- it will help reduce crime.

August 18-21 Montrose Blueberry Festival Super Heroes

Message from The Ambassador:

I have arranged for a table/booth space at the 40th annual Montrose Blueberry Festival on August 18-19-20-21, 2011 in MI for the purpose of spreading awareness of the RLSH Movement. The Theme is “Super Hero” and they would love for any members to come join the festivities to promote and discuss the RLSH movement.
This will be a good moment to interact with a friendly and receptive crowd they will all out to have fun and be looking for a good time all around and so the day should be pretty pleasant. We will be making up a press packet to release before the show it would be nice if anyone who is experienced in this (in terms of them dealing with the RLSH community) could help me out or at least let me bounce ideas off of you. I am hoping any and all can attend though I know that is not possible please spread the word around about this event to those in the Michigan area. I may also set up more opportunities like this in the future. With fan photos and donations jars, we can have a great opportunity not only to interact with the public but also speak out about common causes as well as generate donations for respective charities and spread information about them and the RLSH movement itself.
Please contact me if interested. through my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/briangermain1
or via e-mail [email protected]
for more information on the festival itself check out the link below.

Captain Jackson, Michigan’s Real-Life Superhero

Captain Jackson, Michigan’s Real-Life Superhero

by Josh Ellingson on March 8, 2010
Real-life superheroes may be this year’s Hollywood darling, but Michigan has had their very own masked vigilante, Captain Jackson for years. The Captain has been patrolling the streets of Downtown Jackson since 1999, spreading his message of civic duty while keeping an eye out for crooks and super-villains. He keeps a website with a schedule of community appearances, safety tips, and even a roster of his allied costume heroes, The Crimefighter Corps. Always ahead of the curve, Captain Jackson has been maintaining a blog since May 2000 called The Captain’s Corner with brilliant entries such as, CALLING ALL GOOD DEED DOERS!, BEING AWARE, and HOW TO BE A CRIMEFIGHTER. In addition, the blog features ground chuck-centric recipes in a section called “Cooking with the Captain”.
Captain Jackson’s career ran into a snag in 2004 when he was charged with “impaired driving”. The local newspaper subsequently ran an article about the incident and published the Captains real life identity. The toll that the  media coverage took on our hero is best outlined in the blog entry, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.  After a two-year hiatus, it seemed that he was back in active-duty at community events and online. In the past year though, there seems to be little to report on this masked man, but we may not have seen the last of Michigan’s own, Captain Jackson.

Come Wonder Woman.

Outline On Pepper Spray

What is Pepper Spray?

Pepper spray is a nonlethal aerosol spray made with the pepper derivative oleorsein capiscum (or OC). It is used to cause temporary blindness and incapacitate an attacker. You should only use pepper spray if you are threatened or your life is in danger. It is a crime to use pepper spray to commit malicious acts.

A steady burst of 3-5 seconds will turn almost any attacker, no matter how “tough”, into a blind crybaby, and allow you to either escape, or take control of the situation. Some brands of pepper spray will also leave an invisible chemical on the attacker which will help the Police identify them.
Before you buy a container of Pepper Spray, always look at the expiration date. You will need to buy a new can when it expires. Most brands last for about 2 years.

How does pepper spray work?

Pepper spray is an inflammatory agent. When the spray comes into contact with mucous membranes (eyes, nose, throat and lungs), it causes immediate dilation of the capillaries. Temporary blindness and instant inflammation of the nose, throat and lungs will occur immediately after the spray comes into contact with the mucous membranes. The attacker will experience difficulty breathing, coughing, choking, sneezing, severe burning sensations to the eyes, nose, throat and skin, and nausea.
The inflammation will last anywhere from 15 minutes to approximately one hour.

Is Pepper Spray Legal?

Pepper spray is legal in all 50 States in the U.S. However, possession and/or use may be regulated or prohibited by law in some jurisdictions including your city or town. If you are not 100% sure that pepper spray is legal to use and carry in your locale, check with your local Police department.

Where is Pepper Spray Prohibited?

You cannot carry pepper spray on board a commercial aircraft. If you do, you can be charged with a Federal Crime and a $25,000 dollar fine. You may not be allowed to carry pepper spray into Federal buildings and State buildings, if in doubt…leave it at home.

Various Pepper Spray State Restrictions:
NEW YORK – New York residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers or licensed Pharmacists in that state.
MASSACHUSETTS – Massachusetts residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers in that state.
MICHIGAN – Pepper Spray can be no stronger then a 2% concentration of OC (see top of this article).
WISCONSIN – Pepper Spray can be no stronger then a 10% concentration of OC. Can must be between 15-60 grams only. The bottle must also have a “safety” which locks into place.
