Further Information
From Atavistik
“Hope alone gets nothing accomplished… you must have the will to make that hope a reality.”
July 23rd (Saturday) 2011 is a day that members of this community will meet at the San Diego Con to both attend the Con and to participate in a joint outreach effort to aid those in need in that area. while the odds are that a large group will be in attendance, many community members will not be able to participate. as such, we kinda figured that it would be cool to supplement the group effort in SD with as many other such handouts as possible anywhere and everywhere we can. anyone interested (I’m even leaning towards non-RLSH and non-gimmick people here) could take the 8-9 months until getting ready to do as much good as they can….. that doesn’t mean you have to save it all up til then either. think about the prime package possibilities people! {sorry, couldn’t help it} and what’s the point? because alone, at best you are seen as a costumed eccentric (not in most instances though Rolling Eyes ) at the Con, Raz and those guys will be people in costumes…. at a Comic Convention Rolling Eyes ……. that do some outreach. in costume. if we hit on the same day from the west coast all the way to Lady Liberty, from Tenochtitlan to Barrow and anywhere else that you couldn’t possibly walk from here (okay. so the Statue of Liberty is on an island and most people think Montezuma is a tequila} but you get my point) doing outreach with a flier about the HOPE meet (okay, so I’m not sure HOPE is all caps…. but I like it that way) and a simple explanation thereof, well…… then all you need is contact info and informational links.
since Raz said he’d work up a pdf flier and I have a bigger mouth than my little brother, I’m posting the sign-up sheet. I say “sign up sheet” because people could be interested in helping out, if there’s someone from here already doing this in their area we can direct that help in their direction. if there isn’t, maybe that interested person could get something going anyways…..
in short; outreach/handout, July 23rd 2011, in your town (it’s up to you)……. interested??

Stories are key. If you want people to remember ideas so they can change and get better results, tell them stories”
I am here to help preventing the sexual abuse of children by using the Power of Storytelling to mobilize adults, families and communities to take actions that protect children before they are harmed. Sexual abuse of children is a grim fact of life in our society. It is more common than most people realize. Some surveys say that at least 1 out of 5 women and 1 out of 10 men recall sexual abuse in childhood.
I believe that all families, tribes and societies need resolute storytellers to constantly encourage, inspire and guide their people in a positive moral manner! My SuperSuperPower is to enter into people’s imagination and interact with their deepest human emotions in a quick, powerful, free, natural, refreshing, energizing, collaborative, persuasive, holistic, entertaining, moving, memorable and authentic way using the Power of Storytelling.I strongly believe that Storytelling is one of the key fundamental items that can shift things around a bit as far as knowledge sharing and collaboration are concerned because amongst other things it breaks most of the different traditional barriers that have been around our society for so long. That is what storytelling is all about: power to the people to share stories with others so that we could all learn from one another and eventually make our lives better.
Real Life ActivitiesTell stories to the children and adults in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. On the watch for children sexual abusers activity – alerting children about children sexual abuse and teaching them how to protect themselves.

RLSH Spotlight – Purple Lotus

Purple-LotusThe Purple Lotus
Location – Sunny South Florida- Mainly Palm Beach County
From the Purple Lotus:
I go on lots of street patrols on main drags where there’s a bar scene lately and watch over the drunks.  I’ve dropped ” the lotus line ” phone number at several bars providing a one time free ride within a reasonable distance to any drinkers in need.  My truck – ” the lotus loader ”  is outfitted with trash detail equipment, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, first aid kit, etc.  I clean up little parks and city beautification medians as I go.  My strongest suit is communication.  I try to make every encounter I have with anyone an empowering and helpful experience.  I’d rather see a crackhead come out of hell than be a convicted felon.  As an 8 year and on-going recovering alcoholic, I carry the message of the 12 steps and all the good recovery verbal technology.  When used by a skilled wizard and linguist, it works wonders.  I am a helpful, quick thinking, and problem solving guy.  I approach every situation as a skilled tradesman would.  It’s all doable.  The main goal I have is to use my words to effect great change for the positive at a global level by cultivating the love for RLSH and anything like it.  Basically, I want to live in a world with awesome professional superheroes who have mastered their craft and help to save the world daily.
